Dreaming Darkness

Chasing dreams that

won’t be caught

will give you

only

tired feet,

lungs on fire –

a tomorrow that

never comes.

Today is

never enough

for me –

always wanting

more than it seems

I can ever have.

Reality is a

strong, dark

enemy

whose cold hands

grip my heart

and squeezes from it

my life’s blood.

Dreams should be

left

to

sleeping.
